Co-sponsored by Natura Institute for Ecology and Medicine and the Mesa Refuge

Join us for an evening with Florence Williams discussing her book, The Nature Fix, and in conversation with Integrative Family and Community Medicine physician, Dr. Anna O'Malley.

From forest trails in Korea, to islands in Finland, to eucalyptus groves in California, Florence Williams investigates the science behind nature’s positive effects on the brain. Delving into brand-new research, she uncovers the powers of the natural world to improve health, promote reflection and innovation, and strengthen our relationships. As our modern lives shift dramatically indoors, these ideas—and the answers they yield—are more urgent than ever.

She is a contributing editor at Outside Magazine and a freelance writer for the New York TimesNew York Times MagazineNational Geographic, Mother Jones and numerous other publications. She is also the writer and host of the Audible Original series, Breasts Unbound, as well as Outside Magazine’s Double-X Factor podcast. Anna O'Malley, MD is the Executive Director of the Natura Institute for Ecology and Medicine, and an Integrative Family and Community Medicine physician in West Marin.
